NASA is hiring! In the wake of Tim Peake's historic blast off into space, this announcement could not come at a better time for the space agency.
Aside from the wildly exciting perks of going to space and exploring the unknown, NASA also says it has been named the best place to work in the federal government for a fourth year in a row --as if we needed convincing.
However, the only catch is you will have to be a U.S. citizen to apply.

In the job description, the space agency said: "The next class of astronauts may fly on any of four different U.S. spacecraft during their careers: the International Space Station (ISS), two new commercial spacecraft being built by U.S. companies, and NASA's Orion deep-space exploration vehicle. "

Perhaps the most exciting opportunity for the new recruit will included the possibility of exploring Mars. Charles Bolden, head of NASA, described it as the "next giant leap in exploration."
He said: "This group will launch to space from U.S. soil on American-made spacecraft and blaze the trail on our journey to the Red Planet.”
In addition to a genuine desire to delve into deep space, the candidate must also have a degree in engineering, biological science, physical science, computer science or mathematics.
