Natalie Imbruglia has given birth to her first child – a baby boy called Max.
The ‘Torn’ singer, 44, who conceived with the help of IVF and a sperm donor, shared the news on Instagram.
“Welcome to the world, Max Valentine Imbruglia,” she wrote alongside a photo of her holding her son’s hand. “My heart is bursting.”
Imbruglia revealed in July 2019 she was expecting her first child, at the same time as announcing she had signed a new record deal.
“As you can see from the pic, there is another announcement (no I haven’t swallowed a watermelon),” she joked in the picture caption.
“For those of you that know me, this has been something I have wanted for a very long time and I’m blessed that this is possible with the help of IVF and a sperm donor,” she wrote. “I won’t be saying anything more on that publicly.”
Imbruglia married her long-term boyfriend Daniel Johns in 2003, but the couple divorced in 2008.
Commenting on the post of her announcing the birth of Max, one person wrote: “Congratulations, so glad your dream came true.”
Another commented: “I also have a sperm donor baby and can tell you that it was the best decision I ever made.”
Welcome to the world, Max!
