Unlimited streamed TV and film for £5 a month will land in the UK after Christmas, as Netflix hits our shores.
Available on 700 devices including PCs, Macs and mobile tablets and phones, including Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Sony PS3, Blu-ray disc players, Internet-connected TVs, home theatre systems, digital video recorders, Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, Apple TV and Google TV.
Netflix has been streaming to U.S. members since 2007, and also services Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The service has been at the centre of fraud and phishing scams, where its name has been used to trick victims into revealing their bank details.
The service will go head to head with existing online viewing services, including BBC iPlayer, ITV player, LoveFilm (which has 1.4 million users), YouTube's video rentals, iTunes's TV and film rentals, plus on-demand services from Sky, Virgin and BT are also increasingly offering on-demand services.
