The fact that Alexander Wang's Autumn/Winter 2014 show was held in a warehouse in Brooklyn was a big clue that this season, his collection would be practical and utilitarian, but with an urban twist.
The shapes were boxy - jackets worn with shorts, zipped-up knitwear and pencils skirts were all part of this function-focused collection - but the colours? Bold and bright, with graphic prints adorning many of the pieces.
Patent knee-high boots (flat, of course) and short, slicked-down hair only highlighted the sensible, almost androgynous look further.
