Carolina Herrera presented a lesson in ladylike style with her Autumn/Winter 2014 collection in New York on Monday.
Was it formal and vintage-inspired? Not so much. This season's Herrera girl wore floaty, printed maxi dresses in fresh, vibrant colours teamed with velvet bow belts and slicked-back updos that rivalled the height of any Sixties beehive. The look wasn't boho - it was elegant, graceful and above all, timeless.
Similarly to Prabal Gurung's dreamy gowns, terracota and rich red shades made a statement on Herrera's catwalk. A new trend for A/W 14? It's good news for girls who suit orange.
