Marc Jacobs brought New York Fashion Week to a very stylish close with his Autumn/Winter 2015 catwalk.

Think dark, sultry, severe and inspired by the fabulous Diana Vreeland.

The venue backdrop was designed by Stefan Beckman with Jeremiah Goodman's painting of Vogue editor Vreeland's sitting room in mind. The catwalk? Eccentric, androgynous and extravagant.

British supermodel Erin O'Connor made her return to the runway and was the perfect embodiment of striking, mannish style as she opened the show.

Kendall Jenner aka the American model storming the NYFW scene also walked the catwalk proving that she can do polished and pristine according to Jacobs.

The floral A-line dress and belted, sequin embellished wool jacket nods to feminine but the black patent boots, the gloves, the eyebrows, the scowl give this look a definite hardiness.

Lavish fur outerwear was teamed with tweed two-pieces, quirky knitwear, knee-high boots and leather gloves. Dresses were completely sheer with patent embroidered detail or tunic figure-hugging numbers in check or with leather panelling.

The clothes were feminine but with a dominant, sophisticated edge accentuated by the beauty. Hair was in severe topknots and make up was all about bold, straight brows and a plum lip.

Marc Jacobs women don't settle for anything less than to-die-for when it comes to fashion. They're decked out in sequinned, jewelled, embroidered separates whatever the time of day.
