Nicklas Bendtner, the occasionally risible Arsenal striker, is 26 years young today.
The Dane actually has a role to play at the Emirates Stadium this season after two years on loan at Sunderland and then, bizarrely, Juventus, as Arsène Wenger mulls over whether to sign a striker.
Bendtner, whose two goals this term were winners against Hull and Cardiff, is out of contract in the summer, when his nine-year association the Gunners will likely come to an end.
With Theo Walcott out injured until next season and Lukas Podolski the only other alternative to first-choice striker, Bendtner could yet emerge as a hero for Arsenal as they attempt to end their nine-year trophy drought.
