Katie Holmes didn't hesitate when asked what her top priority is when it comes to raising six-year-old Suri Cruise, her daughter with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
"The number one thing is making sure my child feels loved and good about herself," the former Dawson's Creek star explained. "And that what she does and who she is, is special and important.
"My mom always said, 'No one loves you like your mother.'"
The remarks came as part of the 35-year-old actress' interview for Elle magazine. Holmes will be gracing the cover of the April issue, and the video offers a sneak peek of the glamorous looks the one-time model will be sporting in the magazine's pages, including a stunning pastel blue seashell-inspired gown.
Although Katie takes inspiration from her mother when it comes to raising Suri, her own upbringing in the quiet American midwest could not be more different from her daughter's.
Suri has grown up between Hollywood and New York, surrounded by paparazzi and pampered by her devoted parents, and was considered a fashion icon before she even started school.
