|

It’s that glorious time of year where the Notting Hill Carnival rolls out its annual smorgasbord of dancing, music and general revelry.

Held in west London every summer since 1966, the two-day party from 24 -25 August has become the largest festival street celebration of its kind in Europe.

The route for 2014

This year the route will take in Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Grove, Chepstow Road and Great Western Road.

To save you the time, we've sourced some must-read websites to help you make the best of all the live music, parties, food - and the small yet rather crucial matter of getting there too.

Enjoy!

The Notting Hill Carnival official website should be your first port of call for information on what, when and where it’s all happening.

More than a million people are expected to visit the carnival over the Bank Holiday weekend – check TfL’s website for advice on getting there and any scheduled line closures.

TimeOut has rounded up a sterling selection of useful tips, on where to dance, listen to music and party.

TV station London Live will be broadcasting live from the event on both days.
