Novak Djokovic To Cameo In 'The Expendables 2' - We Examine Other Sports Stars On The Silver Screen

Tennis Star Goes To Hollywood

Tennis ace Novak Djokovic is to appear alongside Sylvester Stallone in The Expendables 2.

The 24-year-old Wimbledon champion will have a cameo as a small-town villain in the action sequel which stars Sly, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, Metro reports.

The Serb tennis ace has begun filming in Bulgaria after being invited to join the production by co-producer Avi Lerner.

The film reunited the original cast of Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke and Jet Li and is also believed to feature an appearance from action hero Jean Claude Van Damme.

Sly - who directed the first action movie - is producing the sequel but has handed over directing duties to Simon West, who previously directed Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Con Air.

Last month tragedy struck the Bulgarian set when a stuntman was killed in an explosion.

The unfortunate incident occurred while the movie's second unit stunt team was filming a scene on reservoir Ognyanovo outside the capital Sofia.
