A nursery has been accused of taping a young child to a mat during nap time – because he wouldn't go to sleep.
Kristi and Brad Galbraith, from Fort Worth, Texas, are suing Heart2Heart Montessori Academy for fraud and negligence, after an ex-employee of the nursery sent them photos of their two-year-old wrapped in a blanket and taped down to a mat.
The couple are seeking $1million (roughly £600,000) in damages after the former employee said their son was one of two children who were taped down when staff could not get them to sleep during nap time.
Speaking about the case to NBC News, Kirsti said: "I felt an extreme amount of guilt about how I could have chosen a place that would do this to my child."
Kristi and Brad's lawyer, Larry Rasansky, called the case 'a parent's worst nightmare'.
He added: "Parents take a leap of faith to entrust their children to the care of someone else, and it is extremely upsetting when something like this happens to toddlers, who are too young to speak up for themselves."
The nursery and daycare centre said in a statement: "The staff and I have the best interest of the children and parents as our highest priority," adding they would co-operate with authorities.
