The top boys' and girls' names for 2010 have just been released by the Office for National Statistics, and you know what, they're frankly rather predictable.
There's not a Harper Seven or Moxie Crimefighter in sight, as good old fashioned monikers like Oliver, Jack, Charlie and William fill the top spots for boys, whilst Olivia, Sophie, Emily and Lily remain the favoured names for girls. In fact, it's the second year running that Oliver and Olivia have been top of the pops.
New entries include Ollie, Bobby, Caleb, Jenson, Dexter and Kayden for little boys, whilst Annabelle, Eliza, Laila, Maryam and Maisy all entered the top 100 for the first time for young ladies.
Alfie was the highest climbing new entry in the top ten for boys, whilst Evie - up from 111 to number 10 - was the highest climber for girls. Over the ten year period from 2000, Lexi was the biggest climber, going from 1,949 for number 47 (the Amanda Holden effect, maybe?).
