"At first we were a little bit angry. We were surprised, but I think we all knew the general vibe that Zayn was feeling,” Liam told James Corden on his US chat show ‘The Late Late Show’ last week.

However, he admitted that they had since made peace with the singer.

It was a good night for the foursome as they also picked up the award for Top Touring Artist.

But there was an awkward moment when Liam was cut off by producers, as he took his turn to say thank you to the band’s fans.

It led the the hashtag #OhNoLiam to begin trending on Twitter, as the 1D fandom went into meltdown over the gaffe.

The lads are currently on a break from their ‘On The Road Again’ tour, which is set to resume on 5 June in Cardiff.
