Sean 'Diddy' Combs is celebrating after winning his first Oscar for sports documentary Undefeated, telling fans his "dreams came true" during his big night in Hollywood.
The rapper worked as executive producer on the film about a struggling high school football team in Memphis, Tennessee and it was named Best Documentary Feature at the Academy Awards on Sunday night.
The win gave Combs his first Oscar, and the hip-hop star shared his delight with fans in a post on Twitter.com, writing: "God is the greatest!!!! Thank you! Undefeated !!!!... Dreams do come true!! Hard work pays off!!"
However, the win was shrouded in controversy when co-director T.J. Martin uttered an expletive during his acceptance speech,
telling the star-studded audience: "We would like to acknowledge our fellow nominees, they have inspired us. They have inspired us in so many ways, they should be up here with us, actually, that'd be f**king amazing."
The curse word was edited out of the TV telecast, and Martin subsequently apologised at a backstage press conference.
He told reporters: "First and foremost I'd actually like to apologise for this. I don't think it was the classiest thing. It did come from the heart. It was out of spontaneity, it was completely accidental."
