High street retailer Matalan has come under fire for selling PADDED BRAS for 8-year-old girls.
The £4.50 bras featured heavily moulded and enhanced cups to create the illusion of a larger bust and sizes started at a tiny 28AA.
A spokesperson for Matalan told the Sun they took their position as a 'family retailer' very seriously and were committed to only selling 'appropriate' children's clothing. It promised an immediate review of the padded bras. The bras no longer feature on the company's website.
The Prime Minister, David Cameron, has previously expressed his disgust at sexualised clothing for young girls. Last year, Primark was heavily criticised for selling a range of padded bikinis for girls as young as SEVEN. Yet this year, its range includes 'hot pants' for six-year-olds. Other retailers such as Asda and Tesco have also come under fire for their kids' clothing ranges in the past.
