Paloma Faith's Comments About The Voice Come Back To Haunt Her As She Rejoins Talent Show

She'd previously stated that she'd "rather not" return to the singing competition.

Paloma Faith has announced she’s returning to The Voice, this time as a coach on the show’s kids version, despite previously admitting she’d “rather not” return to the world of singing contests.

The Brit Award-winning singer will take over from Jessie J on The Voice Kids, sitting alongside Will.i.am, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones when the new series launches in 2020.

She said: “It’s going to be so much fun working with these young singers, helping them find their voices and be the best they can be.

“From what I’ve seen; although they’re small, their voices are often mighty and can give most adults a run for their money!”

Paloma added: “In short, I’m massively excited to be joining The Voice Kids so bring it on.”

However, Paloma’s apparent “massive excitement” is slightly at odds with comments she made in an interview with HuffPost UK back in 2017.

The star had served as a coach for one series of The Voice a year before our interview, and while it wasn’t necessarily a bad experience, she also admitted it wasn’t one she was in a mad rush to repeat.

I knew that I wanted to have children and I knew that I had to put some money in the bank to do that, and at the time I did it for that reason because I was trying for a baby,” she told HuffPost UK.

“The reality is that for the right price I’d do pretty much most things. But if I’m asked if I really enjoy it and do I want to do it, then I’d rather not. If you see me on it, that means I’m getting a good cheque.”
