Grieving parents who lost their baby recently have been devastated by the theft of precious mementoes from their car.

A blue, grey and black striped blanket in which the baby was wrapped at birth, a red toy dinosaur and a baby blue mirror were inside the black Ford Fiesta which was stolen in Dartford, Kent Police said.

A Stokke iZi Go BeSafe baby car seat, Maxi-Cosi car seat and a blue buggy with a tan leather handle grip were also stored in the car.

Sergeant Becky Jones said: "When this car was stolen it contained several items which belonged to the victim's deceased child and this has caused a great deal of upset and distress for the whole family.

"These items are of huge sentimental value to the victim and the family would desperately like them back."

Police said the car was stolen from Mead Road, Dartford, on April 19.

The Fiesta's licence plate begins X389 - but police say it may have now been removed. The car also has a faulty bonnet which does not close properly.
