A 84-year-old woman is in a serious condition after she was trapped beneath a delivery van.
The pensioner was injured by the reversing vehicle in a town centre car park in Keswick, Cumbria, and had to be freed by firefighters.
The accident took place at the back of Bryson's Bakery in Main Street in a lane towards the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Shop at 10.15am on Friday.
A Cumbria Constabulary spokeswoman said the woman suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary at Newcastle where her condition was serious.
"The male driver of the van was interviewed by police and allowed to return home.
"No arrests were made and inquiries are continuing."
Police appealed for witnesses to contact them.
