A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after an elderly woman was raped in her home by an attacker who asked if she would share her wartime stories with him.
The suspect was held at around 10.30pm on Monday in connection with the sex attack on the pensioner in Hardwick, Banbury, Oxfordshire.
The victim, who is in her 70s, opened the door to a teenager who called on her asking if they could talk about the war and the elderly at around 9am on Saturday.
But once inside her home, the woman was pushed to the floor and raped.
The victim activated her personal care alarm and the boy ran off. Thames Valley Police were alerted to the rape at 9.20am by the alarm company.
A police spokesman said the suspect is in police custody.
