People Are Putting Up Their Christmas Trees Already. This Is Not A Drill.

Eager beavers.

We’re not even mid-way through October and some keen beans among us have shunned the societal rule book and already put up their Christmas trees.

This news comes after we learned that people started their Christmas shopping in September – a wise move, perhaps, for those hoping to have money left by December.

According to psychoanalyst Steve McKeown, there’s no harm in putting the tree up early as it can boost happiness levels. “In a world full of stress and anxiety, people like to associate to things that make them happy and Christmas decorations evoke those strong feelings of childhood,” he told UniLad.

“Decorations are simply an anchor or pathway to those old childhood magical emotions of excitement.”

Here are just some of the keen beans with their trees up already.

Some have decided to merge the two upcoming holidays.

Others haven’t even taken last year’s down yet (may as well keep it up now).

And some are strongly considering putting theirs up soon.

If you’re a real tree devotee, you might want to put up the tree later. The British Christmas Tree Growers Association (BCTGA) said it’s best to purchase real trees after 1 December.

“Provided care is taken in looking after the tree, the tree should survive over four weeks,” Harry Brightwell, secretary of BCTGA, told HuffPost UK.
