Twilight star Robert Pattinson has said a proper goodbye to his days as teen heartthrob Edward Cullen by shaving off his trademark hair.
The British actor took to the stage at the People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles last night, collecting his award for Favourite Drama Movie for Water For Elephants, with a distinct lack of vampish-hair.
Now the final Twilight flick is in the can, Pattinson seems to have followed in the footsteps of Matt Damon in transforming his look by shaving his head.
However, although his floppy hair has gone, Pattinson's boyish charm remains, and he was pictured laughing with Golden Girls star Betty White.
Water For Elephants, which Pattinson starred in alongside Reese Witherspoon, beat The Adjustment Bureau, The Help, Limitless and Moneyball to land the coveted gong.
Accepting the Award, R-Patz said: "When I was doing this movie, I was having so much fun doing it that I was saying to everyone I didn't even care if anyone saw it.
"But now that people have seen it and they're giving awards for it, I'm even more thankful for the whole experience, so thank you guys very much."
Fans reacted to Pattinson's haircut on Twitter, with messages appearing to be mainly positive. One said:
