There are conflicting reports today about the health of serial killer Peter Sutcliffe who is being held in Broadmoor Hospital.
The Sun reported Friday that he had suffered a heart attack and claimed he was “close to death”.
Sources told the newspaper the Yorkshire Ripper had lashed out at staff treating him and had been refusing medication.
Peter Sutcliffe is serving 20 life sentences for the murders of 13 women and the attempted murders of seven others
Sutcliffe, who is serving 20 life sentences for the murders of 13 women and the attempted murders of seven others, is understood to be grossly overweight and suffers from diabetes.
The Sun claims the 68-year-old was transferred to another hospital to have a hernia removed last year and experienced a heart attack soon after. It adds Sutcliffe is now believed to be suffering from a hacking cough and claims to have been kept waiting for two months to see a specialist.

“You are just waiting for me to leave here in box!” he is reported to have told his carers, amid fears the delay could bring on another heart attack.
But the Daily Mirror cites a prison source as flatly denying Sutcliffe has had a heart attack, though admitted the killer had been experiencing health problems for some time.
The source added: “It’s been quite extensively reported that he has been ill for some time now and in and out of hospital.”
Sutcliffe is being held at Broadmoor Hospital
A spokesman for Broadmoor Hospital told Huffington Post UK: “Broadmoor Hospital will not comment on matters relating to individual patients as we have a duty to protect patient confidentiality.”
The show has featured patients as they work with psychiatrists and attend workshops to address their rehabilitation, though Sutcliffe refused to take part.
