You know what they say, there's nothing like a few tears on a Tuesday. Okay, no one actually says that. But anyway, the star - who recently celebrated his 41st birthday with a SpongeBob Square Pants-themed bash - couldn't hold back the emotion when Oprah Winfrey played him a compilation of fans across the globe shacking out to his track.

The seven-time Grammy winner has been in the game for decades, but his time in the industry certainly hasn't hardened.

So, what have we learnt?

1. Pharrell is an actual legend. We don't mean to gush, but this dude is a total icon and we challenge you to find someone who doesn't love him. You love him, you mum loves him, your seven-month-old nephew loves him. Who are we kidding? You're pet hamster probably loves him!

2. It's cool to cry. There's nothing wrong with shedding a few tears once in a while. Especially if they're 'Happy' tears (see what we did there? Clever, no?). If Pharrell Williams' can get all blurry eyed over a video then it's totes okay for you to have a little weep in the toilet at work when your boss unexpectedly says something nice about you in a meeting.

3. That hat ain't going nowhere fast. You thought Pharrell's Vivienne Westwood hat was just for onstage and the red carpet. Oh, no! We wouldn't be surprised if we saw him down the corner shop with it perched atop his head.
