"You think your world is safe. It is an allusion," announces Cumberbatch as villain John Harrison, a threat from within Kirk's own organisation. "Enjoy these final moments of peace. Your commanders have committed a crime I cannot forgive. None of you are safe."
Ok then...
Benedict Cumberbatch plays 'Star Trek' villain John Harrison, hellbent on a mission of destruction
Contrary to much speculation before the film went into production, 'Sherlock' star Benedict Cumberbatch is not playing a reincarnation of Kirk's great foe, Khan.
Alice Eve plays Doctor Carol Marcus who is a leading molecular biologist.
Instead, he plays John Harrison who, according to Cumberbatch, is "a one-man terrorist, who does despicable things for a noble cause... a one-man weapon of mass destruction and psychological warfare - it's a great write".
Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are back on board for the sequel as Kirk and Spock respectively
Joining Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are British actors Simon Pegg, taking up Scotty again, and Alice Eve, who plays new Star Fleet recruit Dr Carol Marcus. This trailer also introduces actor Peter Weller, rumoured to be playing her father Admiral Marcus.
'Star Trek: Into Darkness' will be in UK cinemas from 16 May 2013. Watch the new trailer above, and the previous trailer below...
