Indonesian footballer Pieter Rumaropen has received a life ban after he punched a referee.
The Persiwa Wamena striker left official Muhaimin with blood streaming down his face after he awarded a penalty to opponents Bandung Raya.
The match was delayed for 15 minutes before a replacement official took charge and gave Rumaropen a red card.
Muhaimin received stitches at hospital and now Rumaropen has been told he will never play professional football in Indonesia again.
Indonesia FA boss Hinca Panjaitan, a member of the disciplinary commission, said Rumaropen’s behavior damaged the image of the country’s football.
