Pippa Middleton has been axed from her job as a columnist for The Telegraph six months after she was given the role.
The Duchess of Cambridge's sister covered everything from rowing to pancake-tasting for the weekly column but on Sunday, The Mirror reported Pippa's contract had come to an end after readers found her writing "silly and boring."
A source said, "It's fair to say reader reaction to Pippa's writing wasn't great. There were also a few issues with deciding what topics Pippa should and shouldn't write about."
Apparently sporting subjects like hydra-spinning didn't go down well with the paper's audience.
A spokeswoman for The Telegraph confirmed the news with a statement on Sunday.
"The column was great. Pippa Middleton is a professional freelance writer and has gone on to do other things for other publications," she told The Mirror.
"As far as I am aware it was just one of those things," she added.
The news comes just a few months after the poor sales of Pippa's hosting and entertaining book Celebrate. Although there were hopes it would be published in the US, Viking Press chose not to go ahead with the deal after the lack of interest in the UK.
Plans for a follow-up book were also put to rest. "Pippa's Celebrate sales are nothing to celebrate," a source told The Sunday Times. "She was a superstar after the wedding, and everybody thought it would be a success."
Still, it's not all bad news for Pippa's writing career. She's still got contracts with Waitrose magazine and Vanity Fair (this month, she tells readers how to dress for Royal Ascot.)
And who knows, she might have a wedding to plan in the not too distant future...
