Back in November, reports claimed Pippa had been offered a £400,000 deal with US TV network NBC. Now the 31-year-old is said to have pulled out of her role on the Today show.

After filming a test segment for the programme in Wyoming, talks between the Duchess of Cambridge's younger sister and NBC executives have come to a halt.

"There were talks and Pippa did a test shoot which went really well," a source told the Daily Mail. "But for various reasons, a regular show with Pippa isn't going to happen. Ultimately she didn't want to commit herself to a big job in the US. She's got a boyfriend in Geneva and her family in the UK. It was too much for her to pack up and leave them behind."

Although a regular reporting job now seems unlikely, the source confirmed Pippa will still work for the network on an "ad hoc basis". NBC has also revealed they are still looking for the right role before they make her an offer.

"NBC executives very much like Pippa, but they want to find the role most appropriate for her," a source from the channel told Page Six. "The last thing NBC News needs right now is another Chelsea Clinton, a correspondent with a large salary, high profile and no particular purpose."

Speculation over Pippa's TV career first started when her interview with Today's Matt Lauer back in June 2014 proved a huge ratings hit.
