The cast of Pitch Perfect have reunited to record a new song in character as the Barden Bellas.
Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow are among those featured on a new cover of Beyoncé’s Love On Top, with each of them recording their parts from home.
Money raised from the recording – which also features Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee and Hailee Steinfeld – will go to Unicef’s efforts to help children in the Lebanese capital Beirut and across the world during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The video also features an introduction from John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks, in character as their Pitch Perfect commentator alter-egos.
On Instagram, Brittany Snow wrote: “These pitches are back. Whether you like it or not.
“We are here, again, making music with our mouths for two very important reasons: Beyoncé and a great cause.”
She continued: “There’s nothing perfect about the world we’re living in. Families around the globe are suffering from the impact of the #COVID19 pandemic, especially those in Lebanon who are facing crisis after crisis. But we can all pitch in and help.
“The proceeds from the downloads & streams of our rendition of Love on Top will go to @UNICEF to help children in Lebanon and around the world who need our support right now.”
Pitch Perfect quickly gained a cult following upon its release in 2012, with two sequels following in 2015 and 2017.
The original film follows a group of outsider college students who come together at Barden University to compete in the national acapella singing championships.
