Plus-sized Amani Terrell is taking her body image campaign to the streets in a bid to help boost the confidence of Hollywood women who aren't supermodel slim.
"You cannot seek validation from other people, this world is very cruel," Amani told FOX KTTV Los Angeles before shedding her clothes and strutting down Hollywood Boulevard in just a bikini.
Living in Hollywood, Amani said she's all to familiar with the "mass hysteria of perfection" in a town populated by thin model-types.
Despite living in the plastic surgery capital of the US, Amani is adamant beauty comes in many different shapes, sizes and colours, despite what one ideal represents.
Not only this but the 260lb body image campaigner said she also disagrees with the way other people assume overweight women view themselves as unattractive and struggle with self-esteem issues.
"There's a misconception that big women have low self-esteem, I don't have low self-esteem," she explained. And although she acknowledges she could benefit from losing weight, she doesn't let that get in the way of her ability to love herself.
Watch the video below and let us know whether you think Amani's efforts could make any difference in a town known for its preoccupation with perfection.
