Police investigating the stabbing death of an elderly man in a Glasgow street have made an arrest.
A 24-year-old man is being held in connection with the death of John Baker, 76, in the city's Bridgeton area on Wednesday.
Members of the public went to the aid of Mr Baker, who lived locally, after he was attacked in Stevenson Street, near its junction with Abercromby Street, at about 12.30am.
The pensioner was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he died.
A Police Scotland statement said: "A 24-year-old man has been detained in connection with the death of John Baker on Wednesday June 29.
"Inquiries are continuing and a significant uniform presence remains within the Calton and Bridgeton areas."
