The heartwarming moment a police officer helped feed a baby whose mother was having a seizure, was captured in a photo that has become a viral hit on Facebook.

Overland Park Officer, Andy Black, was called out to a Kansas mall where a woman had been spotted having a fit. When he arrived, the woman was reportedly shaking so badly he asked if he could hold her baby daughter, as he feared she might drop her.

Jilli Nel, an artist, happened to be walking past at that moment and felt compelled to take a photo.

She told Fox 4: "It was so beautiful, it just touched my heart so much, that I had to stop and talk to him. It was a moment I just had to capture."

Officer Black, who has 14 grandchildren, told Fox 4: "By the time I got there, the lady had recovered somewhat, and was sitting on a seat with a small baby in a carrier at her feet.

"She had the baby and was putting a bottle in her mouth, and she gave her to me, she handed me the bottle. The baby was crying, and I'm a grandpa, so I took the bottle and I fed the baby."

Nel said she shared the photo on Facebook as she wanted to share a positive story about police officers. Her photo has received more than 160 shares, it was also shared by the National Police Wives Association and on their Facebook page the picture received more than 1,600 likes.
