A “sexual predator” who committed a catalogue of crude offences against women has been jailed for eight-and-a-half years.

Pawel Relowicz, 25, left his victims feeling “violated” and “terrified” after watching some of them commit intimate acts and stealing sexual items from their homes.

A court heard how the Polish butcher’s “odd and worrying” behaviour included pleasuring himself in the street and leaving an unwrapped condom in a woman’s home as a “calling card”.

He was due to stand trial at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday charged with 13 offences, but instead admitted four counts of voyeurism, three of burglary and two of outraging public decency, with the other four offences left to lie on file.

The defendant, wearing a grey sweatshirt, appeared to be on the verge of tears as he was told the length of his jail term on Friday.

Passing down the sentence, Judge Jeremy Richardson QC told him: “Between June 2017 and January 2019 you indulged in a campaign of crime.

“I am certain that each one of your crimes, including the burglaries, was driven by your perverted sexual deviancy.

“I cannot ignore the fact that you are plainly a sexual predator.”

Relowicz was also given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Describing the sentence as severe, the judge said: “It is intended to be so as this form of criminality is very serious and the public have the right to be protected from an individual like you.”

He added that it was clear that the offences had been motivated by Relowicz’s “perverted sexual deviancy”, and described him as potentially being a “very dangerous individual”.

“It is clear to me that you harbour sexually deviant traits within your character”, the judge added.

Among Relowicz’s offences, which were all committed in Hull over a 19-month period, was an occasion in which he watched through an open window as a woman and her boyfriend engaged in an “intimate” act.

The victim described feeling “violated” by the incident, and said that her friend later found a condom and women’s underwear on the door handle of her home.

She said: “It is something that I still think about to this day, and it weighs heavily on my mind.”

On other occasions he peeped through the ill-fitting blinds of a woman’s home to watch as she got changed after a shower, spied on another woman as she got dressed from her sports bra and pyjama bottoms, and watched on as a woman danced round her living room in leggings and a bra.

The same woman also reported seeing Relowicz’s hands coming through her letterbox less than a month later.

Among the burglary offences was an incident in which, in December 2017, he stole three vibrators from a property in Hull.

Richard Woolfall, prosecuting, said it was “worthy of note” that, despite stealing the sexual items, the Polish national did not take a high-value laptop which was left on the victim’s desk.

Relowicz also admitted stealing £148 in cash from the home of a mother-of-two, who also found an unwrapped condom by a child’s toy “together with a pair of knickers that must have been removed from a washing basket that had been in the kitchen,” Mr Woolfall said.

The prosecutor said that the items had been left in the home by the defendant as a “calling card”.

On another occasion, on January 26, he stole photographs, condoms, a “sex game”, a laptop, Kindle and speaker from another Hull property, the court was told.

On two occasions in January women saw him masturbating in the street, with one saying he “didn’t seem bothered” to have been spotted, prosecutors said.

One of the women told how Relowicz, of Raglan Street, Hull, stared directly at her as he performed the act.

Dale Brook, defending, said that a spell in custody would be made “all the worse” by the fact that Relowicz has two young children, aged nine months and three years.

He said that the defendant, who has lived in the UK for seven years, intends to return to Poland as soon as he can.
