A resident in Belhaven, Mississippi, has finally managed to get the city council to attend to a damaged road after two years - by throwing a birthday party for a pothole.
Local Eddie Prosser was tired of the local government's lack of action, and decided to get their attention in a different way after 14 phone calls failed to make a difference.
Prosser told KXAN he had a good sense of humour but also genuinely believed the road had become dangerous.
After the tongue-in-cheek protest was featured on the local news, city workers finally came and filled the huge hole.
