A pregnant woman has spoken out after she was kicked off a bus because her baby's nappy was smelly.
Nichole Hakimian was taking her one-year-old son Daniel to a doctor's clinic because he had diarrhoea. She was told she had to get off the bus because the smell of Daniel's nappy was too much for other passengers to handle.
"He had just pooped in his diaper as soon as I got on, because he was having diarrhoea,' Nichole told KOMO 4 News. "And right after that, she told me I had to get off the bus."
The bus driver of the Metro Transit in Seattle told Nichole it was because, 'it's not fair that we all have to smell that'.
The bus driver refused to back down, even when pregnant Nichole explained she was taking her son to a doctor's appointment, and she and Daniel got off the bus around half an hour from the clinic.
Nichole, who is four months pregnant, found a nearby place to change Daniel's nappy, and caught another bus to the clinic where she was told her little boy had a stomach bug,
"I feel like I was being discriminated against and bullied," said Nichole.
Metro Transit spokesman Jeff Switzer told KOMO 4 News: "Based on reports, this appears to be a very unique situation. Our goal is always to balance the comfort of all of our riders with providing good customer service.
"We are investigating the complaint, and will get a report from the driver to confirm what happened and that proper procedures were followed."
