A video of pregnant woman dancing to Thriller to try to bring on labour has gone viral after the mum-to-be shared it on Facebook.

Bonnie Northsea, from Florida, recorded the video when she was 40 weeks pregnant and desperate to meet her son. She'd heard that Michael Jackson's moves were known to encourage labour (sounds about right?!) and decided to test out the theory.

She posted the video on Facebook with the caption: "Someone told me Thriller would induce labor. Here I am on my due date 40 weeks looking like a fool. I'm so awesome!"

Bonnie had only intended for the video to entertain herself and her friends, so she was surprised when it started to be shared and the viewing figures grew rapidly.

Seeing how popular the clip was Bonnie decided to share it on YouTube the next day, along with a little more information about herself.

"My Facebook video has 55,000 views after 24 hours, so I thought I would place on YouTube as well," she wrote.

"My husband is fighting a battle with Testicular Cancer (just diagnosed a month ago) so it has been difficult emotionally recently. This video really helped as it caused me to laugh over and over again."

Bonnie and her husband have decided to call their baby Willem - and despite the dance moves not yet having the desired effect, they are sure their son will enjoy seeing his first dance with his mum.

"HAHA...I can't stop laughing. Willem will be so proud when he is older and can see this video," Bonnie commented.
