Going into the final day of the 2004/05 Premier League campaign, four sides - Crystal Palace, Norwich City, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion - remained in with a chance of surviving relegation.
Palace travelled to nearby rivals Charlton, the Canaries headed west to Fulham, the Saints hosted FA Cup finalists Manchester United and the Baggies entertained Portsmouth.
Ominously, West Brom were bottom of the table at Christmas. Not one team in the previous 13 seasons of the Premier League had stayed up when bottom on 25 December.
But Bryan Robson's side were about to tear up the form book...
