Manchester City will play host to newly promoted Southampton on the first day of the 2012/13 Premier League season.
The Saints will be playing their first top-flight match in over seven years when they travel north to the Etihad Stadium, as City's neighbours United travel to Goodison Park, where they have lost just thrice in the Premier League era and played their opening day match in 2005.
Newcastle v Tottenham is the stand out fixture arguably, as the fifth and fourth-placed sides face one another at St James' Park on 18 August, although dates are subject to change due to television rights.
Championship winners Reading and play-off victors West Ham United entertain Stoke City and Aston Villa respectively, while Brendan Rodgers's first fixture as Liverpool manager will be at West Bromwich Albion's Hawthorns. Arsenal face Sunderland at home meanwhile.
Rodgers' tough start continues as champions City, Arsenal and Manchester United travel to Anfield in the Reds' first five games in August and September.
