Prince Charles Sits Through Drag Act About His Elderly Mother

Charlie’s current trip to Canada is turning into something of a farce. Having landed himself in the centre of a diplomatic dispute by comparing the actions of Vladimir Putin in Crimea to Adolf Hitler, on Monday the heir to the British throne was forced to sit through a comic impersonation of his elderly mother.

Delivering the turn was actor Wade Lynch, who seemed to be playing across between Widow Twanky and Benny Hill. The Prince and Camilla squirmed through the vignette with understandable scowls as Wade went through his performance replete with large hat and shrill voice.

"There are two members of our audience who call me by quite another name, and that is, of course, Mommy. Hello, kids! Surprise!" he said.

After criticism of the act hit Canadian media, Lynch offered some regret. He said: "Even though the humour is gentle when I appear as the Queen, some people believe you are not supposed to mock the royals."
