Rumours that Prince William's party pal Guy Pelly was to be named Prince George of Cambridge's godfather have been well and truly laid to rest.
There was talk that the Duke of Cambridge had chosen guy to be his firstborn son's godparent despite his partying antics and upcoming drink driving trial. Awks. But guess what? It's totally not true.
Pardy boy Pelly won't be joining the Queen, Prince Philip, Charles and Camilla in the Music Room at Buckingham Palace next month, where heirs to the throne are baptised.
Guy told the Mail Online: "People have been coming up to me and shaking my hand offering their congratulations all week. It's been weird. I've had to explain to everyone that I am not going to be a godfather. They have got it all wrong.
"I spoke to William yesterday about it and he confirmed I am not going to be one. And I want to set the record straight. William wasn't annoyed about people getting it wrong, just quite matter-of-fact that it should be put right."
