There are two more royal babies!
Princess Charlene of Monaco welcomed twins, Gabriella and Jacques, on Wednesday, three years after she married Prince Albert of Monaco. Her husband was at her side during the birth at the Princess Grace Hospital, named after his late mother Grace Kelly.
They are the 36-year-old former South African Olympic swimmer's first children. The prince, 56, has two other children, but as they were born outside of marriage they are excluded from the throne.
In a statement, the palace said both mother and her babies were doing well. A spokesperson also confirmed Jacques will be the next in-line to the throne.
Prince Albert, who did not know the gender of the babies, previously said if the twins were the same sex, the first one born would inherit his title. He arranged for 42 canon shots (21 for each baby) to be fired in Monaco on Wednesday evening to mark the twins arrival.
It was an historic moment in the principality - Gabriella and Jacques are the first twins to be born in the Monaco royal family since the 13th century.
Congratulations to the royal couple!
