Princess Charlotte has been photographed beaming happily while playing in a field of daffodils, in new official images released to mark her fourth birthday.
The adorable youngster was captured running through the grass with a flower firmly clasped in one hand, while another showed her perched cheekily on a gate. Charlotte wore a navy tartan dress and a cosy grey cardigan in two of the snaps, with her hair pulled back in a ponytail.
The photographs were taken in April by her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge – both at Kensington Palace and at the family’s home in Norfolk.
In another photograph, Charlotte is pictured sitting on the grass wearing a blue floral dress, with a white Peter Pan collar, and navy plimsols on.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share three new photographs of Princess Charlotte ahead of her fourth birthday tomorrow,” a statement by Kensington Palace read.
The pictures shortly follow the release of official photos to mark her brother, Prince Louis’ first birthday – who was also pictured playing outside their home.
Together with brother Prince George – and the nation at large – Charlotte and Louis await the arrival of their cousin-to-be.
Royal baby watch reaches fever pitch, with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry expected to announce the arrival of their firstborn child imminently.
