There’s been plenty of debate over the controversial Protein World ads that have popped up - and now are being taken down - in tube stations and on billboards around the country, and now, former ‘TOWIE’ star Maria Fowler has weighed in on the matter.

However, while over 50,000 people signed a petition for the posters to be removed, Maria has now stated that we should "start fat shaming on adverts for "plus sized" clothing companies".

In a lengthy rant, Maria explains that she’s taking another brand of supplements, and arguing that companies like Protein World, and Forza who make the supplements she takes, are just helping people to become healthier.

One star who agrees with Maria is Luisa Zissman.

The former ‘Apprentice’ candidate spoke out on Tuesday, claiming that the anti-Protein World campaign is just “extreme feminist brigade letting off some bra burning steam once again.”

However, on ‘Good Morning Britain’, Susanna Reid and her co-presenter Ben Shephard grilled the company’s head of marketing.

“What if my only goal is to be on a beach?” Susanna asked him. “Am I irrational by finding that advert a little bit anxiety inducing?”
