A couple who were pepper-sprayed by police after a barman allegedly caught them having sex in a pub toilet will go on trial today.
Lee Hopps, 30, and Hayley McClory, 23, will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court, County Durham, over the incident at the Stanley Jefferson pub, Bishop Auckland in January.
Hopps is charged with a section 4 public order offence and resisting arrest.
McClory is charged with a section 4 public order offence, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
Both defendants deny the charges, but McClory admitted a charge of criminal damage relating to a police blanket at a previous hearing.
