Despite the huge progress being made by the transgender rights movement in Britain, a persistent struggle remains around educating the media and public - especially around the language to describe key achievements and the people they affect.
Despite 2015 having been a landmark year, a YouGov poll in June showed that a quarter (24%) of Brits don't know what it means if someone is transgender, and even BBC news presenters have struggled with using the right words to define people.
As part of HuffPost UK's TransBritain project, we've put together trans terms and definitions. Can you match them up correctly?
Definitions have come from Trans Media Watch.
