Rachel Riley has rubbished rumours that she will be a new host on 'BBC Breakfast'.

It was previously reported that the 'Countdown' presenter would be taking over from Susanna Reid - who she competed against in the most recent series of 'Strictly Come Dancing' - on the breakfast show, as Susanna has defected to ITV to host their reboot of 'Good Morning Britain'.

She also admitted that hosting the show so early in the morning might have been a problem for her, saying: "I had quite a few messages from friends that just laughed their heads off at the thought of me doing anything that early in the morning."

After making the announcement she tweeted that she "will miss the team" at the BBC, but admitted she was "very excited" to take the new step in her career.

Meanwhile, Louise Minchin - who is currently filling in for Susanna until a permanent replacement is announced - is reported to be in line to become permanent host of 'BBC Breakfast'.
