Steve Jobs is an icon of such magnitude, you might assume almost every picture ever taken of the man is already collected in some giant coffee table on sale on San Francisco for a billion dollars.
Not quite. A new collection by Doug Menuez ('Fearless Genius: The Digital Revolution in Silicon Valley 1985-2000') includes several images of Jobs at his best, when trying to rebuild his reputation with NeXT followiing his mid-eighties departure from Apple.
Although humbled professionally Jobs was in a reverie of inspiration, aiming to create -- as he put it -- a machine on which a student could cure cancer from their dorm room.
NeXT eventually sold to Apple for just over $400 million, at which point Jobs returned to the company and began his surge to world domination with the Mac, the iPod and the iPhone before his death in 2011.
BBC World Service spoke to Menuez (above) and gained some interesting insights into the pictures and the stories behind them.
