Grand Theft Auto publisher Rockstar Games has confirmed the arrival of a long-awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed video game Red Dead Redemption.
The first Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer will go live on Thursday 20 October while the game has a release date set for September/October 2017.
Rockstar originally tweeted nothing more than a red version of its logo which in the last 24 hours has been retweeted an astonishing 103k times and liked over 180k times.
Seemingly confirming that Rockstar would be returning to the Wild West setting of Red Dead Redemption, the publisher has since tweeted another picture showing what appears to be a band of cowboys.
Red Dead Redemption was a departure for Rockstar, who traditionally have focused their efforts on the Grand Theft Auto series of video games.
The game was set right at the end of the ‘Wild West’ period in the early 20th century and was praised for its emotive storytelling and impressive graphics.
