Digital lip-locking could be the future of long-distance relationships, hopes Dr Hooman Samani of Lovotics, who has invented the world's first robotic kissing mouth.
In this promotional video, the creator of the 'Kissinger' (seriously) asks the deep question: Are text messages and video chats not enough? And if the answer is No, lovelorn partners are advised to try out his 'Kissinger'.

Like his product's namesake, Dr Samani promises to bring seismic shifts to international relationships -- via a robotic kissing mouth.
The video claims: "With the aid of digital communication media and advance robotic technology, the system takes the form of an artificial mouth that provides the convincing properties of the real kiss."
According to Lovotics: 'The product aims to simulate a real kiss, even if you and are your partner are not together in real space."
A peek inside the 'Kissinger'
"It provides physical interface for kiss communication for several applications, facilitating intimate human tele-presence with the real and virtual worlds."
And of course, this isn't just good news for couples torn apart by circumstance. According to Lovotics, the 'Kissinger' has a "crucial biologically motivated" role.
"Apart from the surface level enjoyment humans have by kissing, [the Kissinger allows] prospective mates to smell and taste each others pheromones to test compatibility," states the video.
