Rhod Gilbert To Replace Jack Dee On 'The Apprentice: You're Fired!'

Jack Dee quit the hosting role after just one series.

Jack Dee’s replacement on ‘The Apprentice: You’re Fired’ has been named as comedian Rhod Gilbert.

Rhod tells RadioTimes.com his own experience of being fired from jobs in the course of his BBC work experience show means his guests will be in good company when they join him for a post-mortem of their time on ‘The Apprentice’.

”As someone who has been fired from 24 jobs in six series of my BBC work experience show [’Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience’], I feel I have what it takes to empathise with the candidates who’ve been so cruelly rejected, and provide a shoulder for them to cry on.”

Rhod, a familiar face on ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ and ‘Have I Got News For You?’ comes to the show after Jack Dee fired himself after last year’s series.

Jack’s regular sparring partner, Ramesh Ranganathan, will be appearing this year, but not as frequently as in 2015.

This year’s show will follow the routine of previous years, airing on BBC Two immediately after the credits roll on ‘The Apprentice’ on BBC One, with experts, celebrities and fired candidates chipping in to review that week’s episode. The winning candidate will once again appear in the final of the series.

Both ‘The Apprentice’ and ‘You’re Fired!’ come to air in October.
