"As the sun sets on the Olympics, darkness rises," warns the trailer to BBC1's new period drama, Ripper Street.
However, it should be taken less as a warning and more as something to look forward to once all the brilliant sporting activity is packed away again for four years.
The show – about the London police’s struggle to bring order to their beat after 19th century serial killer Jack the Ripper's reign of terror - stars Spooks actor Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn from Game Of Thrones and US actor Adam Rothenberg.
